… given words like ‘design’ and ‘engineering’ can mean different things to different people.
For a lot of people, design means what you can see & touch, and there is an assumption that everything else is the domain of the manufacturer.
When APS talk about design, we mean everything that makes the product what it is intended to ‘be’ - from its styling, finish, texture & how the user interacts, right through to all the stuff you can’t see like material choice, wall section, strength, flexibility, choice of manufacturing method, or how the features inside have been tooled.
When we say ‘engineered’, we want to emphasise that the product has been taken well beyond just what you can see & touch. We take into account how best to manufacture your product with your best interests in mind, without compromising the best interests of the end user.
Manufacturing in-house (via independent sister company Sepal, or your manufacturer of choice) gives APS our unique insight to design problems out before they reach the manufacturer and get locked into the product design, building in unnecessary cost for evermore. So that’s what we do different …
