A 1968 graduate of Swinburne University of Melbourne and founder of Daldorado, LLC (USA) & Daldorado Pty Ltd (AUS), Robert Lawson is a legend in the aquatics industry, particularly when it comes to main drains and pool gratings. Appointed as the Executive VP of an international corporation in 1986, Rob went on to form his own business Grate Technologies in 1992 which eventually became Lawson Aquatics, and was ultimately sold in 2011 to a world-renowned filtration corporation.
Being instrumental in engineering and developing the domed main drain grate widely used today, in response to 2007 US safety regulations becoming much more stringent and requiring a complete redesign of main drains throughout the commercial pool industry, Rob was ideally positioned to step up once again when in 2017 the International safety regulations to be ever more demanding.

Recognising that none of the pool drain and grate products on the American market met the new International Building Code (IBC) standards, Rob engaged APS Innovations to engineer a complete new range of products to launch Daldorado, to provide the safest, most technologically advanced rim-flow and main drain products in the aquatics industry.
