THREE GENERATIONS, AUSTRALIAN MADE
The Geelong Brush Co. is a third generation family-owned Australian business offering an extensive range of quality brooms and brushes for both home and tradie use. Run today by Ross Durran the grandson of Victor Durran who founded GBC in 1936, this well-respected Australian business has expanded several times over their many years and continues to manufacture high quality brushware products, remaining committed to local manufacture by taking advantage of world’s best practice technology and production processes.
In the fight to maintain local manufacture of quality products in the face of cheap overseas imports, GBC regularly leverages the engineering design expertise of APS to give them the edge they need to make them not just competitive, but keeps their locally made dustpan & brush set products the largest selling sets of their type in Australia.
In order to maximise profit without sacrificing quality or functionality, APS apply an iterative engineering design approach to ensure that styling also generates product strength and stiffness, and strength is generated by clever geometry rather than just making the part thicker and heavier.
Utilising in-house computer-aided FEA structural analysis and injection-moulding process flow analysis tools, APS Innovations are able to minimise weight & mould-cycle times, without affecting functionality, styling or compromising on quality material choice.
